Manchin on Mining: We Want Permission to Work

Jan 15 - “We are not asking for a handout. All we’re asking for is the permission to work,” says West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin.  He called on West Virginians to stand up for coal and stand against the professional activists and their bureaucratic allies in Washington who are waging war on coal.  EPA has arbitrarily stalled dozens of mining permits across the Appalachian states; a timeline and criteria for issuing the permits are unclear.   Read Manchin’s State of the State address.
